National Artificial Intelligence Policy

Co-designing a policy to accelerate Rwanda’s ambitions to become the premier technology innovation hub and AI leader across Africa, in partnership with Ministry of ICT & Innovation, GIZ/FAIR Forward, The Future Society, among other stakeholders. The policy will inform public and private sector adoption of AI and establish a roadmap for a National AI Research Agenda.

Chatbots RESET

Piloting a framework for governing the responsible use of conversational AI in healthcare. This project is done in partnership with Babylon and Babyl Rwanda as the piloting partners, in collaboration with a multi-stakeholder project community including the Ministry of Health, Rwanda Biomedical Centre, World Economic Forum as well as representation from industry and academia.

AI Readiness and Maturity Assessment Index

Co-designing a tool that will help visualize Rwanda’s AI maturity over time to help inform policy direction, guide government investment decisions, and identify opportunities for the private sector. This project is in partnership with the Ministry of ICT & Innovation, GIZ/FAIR Forward, and GFA.

AI4Health Data Sharing Framework

Co-designing and piloting a data sharing framework to accelerate research and innovation in the healthcare sector, with an initial focus on health tech startups and academia. The project is done in partnership with the Ministry of ICT & Innovation and Rwanda Biomedical Center.
